How about open government? As promised, President Elect, Barrack Obama now has a website for "We The People". Visit the link below and judge for yourself. If you click on Agenda for example, you can submit your suggestions and ideas to help improve our government.
This is only the beginning of a new generation of governing in action. Transparency, input, and information. You just gotta love technology and a president elect who understands this.

A New America
This morning I woke to a new America. A day when Americans elected a half white and half black man who wants to change our country, not for himself but for us, for he sees the great challenges we face and wants the opportunity to lead us in a new direction.
Now we have given him that chance. This man who could have worked in a law firm providing an impressive income elected to work with people in his community who were devastated over the steel mill industry closings.
It takes a very special person to dedicate themselves to public service like this and this man is one of them. He is faced with many serious issues. I can only wish him well and hope we all come together and work toward a better America.

Last night I was up posting comments on a local television blog for hours going back and forth with some right wingers. I have concluded that these fellow Americans are sick, twisted, lying jerks who think that you are a far left extremist if you don't agree with their garbage.
They are big on telling only half truths and great at making things up. These people are the typical self centered "it's all about me types" that can't handle anything that conflicts with their need to be right all the time.
I just wonder what the hell these nut cases are going to do when Barrack Obama wins by a landslide tomorrow? Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see many of them pack up and leave the lower 48 and move to Alaska where they can all get together and wave their flags, bow to Sara and admire their support the troops stickers. I have yet to meet an America who doesn't support our troops. I think those stickers should be sold in Iraq.
Meanwhile tonight I have seen this Obama/Wright television ad 5 times already on one channel. It is trying to get me to think that Barrack is too Radical & Risky. Now that's what I call a real middle class issue we are all concerned about! And Fox News is pounding away at everything and anything they can to discredit Obama. Of all people, Newt Gingridge is their guest. This was the guy that had this neat idea of how the republicans would bring us better government if we gave them control. Of course Dennis Miller was on fox trashing Obama as well.
I guess this is McCain's "get out the vote" program in action. I can here them all crying the blues on Wednesday over their losses somehow blaming the Democrats for what is going to happen now that they have regained the White House and Congress. I have come to realize that all republicans should be fortune tellers for they seem to know the future. They know how people will manage, vote, rule and conduct themselves even if those people say otherwise!
This election has made me very bitter toward some of my fellow Americans and for good reason. I can't wait to let all of them know with all those lies and crap they have thrown around that they have lost the election for most Americans voted for Hope & Change, not because they were dumb and stupid like these sick, twisted, lying jerks.

I received an email from a old friend of mine who took time to write me and explain to me why he thinks I'm nuts to support the Democratic ticket. Here is my response to his content:
McCain is NOT my guy....to me he is the lesser of two evils. There are things I don't like about McCain.
I don't believe either is evil, they just have different policies. McCain is a deregulator and proudly admits it. It's this right wing thinking that has destroyed many of our industries; the latest is of course, housing. We deregulated the airlines and oil and you know the rest of those stories.
But Obama scares me silly....it is hard for me to believe that you don't see it!
He is lying to you Mike. And when I think of the tri-fecta in Washington if he wins....
Obama, a democratic congress (by the way this congress has been writing the laws for the last two years), and Pelosi...she is super scary and these three entities will be running this country unchecked...no balance. Wow.
Yes, the demos have had a very small (one seat) edge and managed to get very little passes in Congress thanks to republican filibusters. It been on the news for the last two years by the way. It will be wonderful to see good laws get passed without the right wing killing them. For six of the last eight years the republicans have had this "no balance" you mentioned. They promised us a better tomorrow. I'm still waiting!
"He will raise taxes on all of us. In 2010 when the Bush tax cuts expire....Obama will raise all of our taxes.
Considering that only about 55% of us pay taxes in this country that will be harsh."
I don't know where this info comes from? Joe The Plumber's Crack? It is plain fact that Bush cut taxes for the top 2% only. This is fact, check your resources or just stay in denial. Try Google if you can face reality. You are clearly wrong about this.
Raising taxes now would be catastrophic for this country and he is going to do it.
What is catastrophic, is what Bush and the republicans have done to our country. Do you know that when Bush gave the top two percent those cuts we were suppose to see more jobs and wealth? Do you know what they really did with that money. They purchased paintings which only they can afford that increase in value no matter what happens to our economy. Think about having millions of dollars. Do you really think you need a tax cut while your country's in two wars? Many who are this wealthy are also very greedy. Do you really think they are going to share their good fortune by running out a creating jobs for us? These are the same people who shipped our jobs to China and India. Their corporate office is in a place like Bermuda to escape paying any tax. Now that real American greed! Our corporate CEOs' are the most corrupt in the world.
It is frightening to think of him making decisions regarding national security.
Look back at the decisions Bush has made; Now that's frightening and the guy you fear less then Obama is exactly like him.
It is frightening to think of him turning this country into another socialist France.
What do you have against everyone having health care? You are trying to paint it as something bad. What's bad is this country, America with millions of fellow Americans uninsured while other countries provide for theirs. The number one reason for bankruptcies is "medical".
He scares the shit out of me man. Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama & Biden combined!
Sarah has as much experience as the mayor of Mound, MN. She is nothing but a beauty queen with a quest for power. Many in her own party know she lacks the experience and have said so in the Media as of late. Now that's frightening! Her foreign policy experience consists of "seeing Russia from her house".
Obama has never run anything that has any responsibility attached to it....EVER!
Obama has run one of the best campaigns in our country's history. McCain has run one of the worst. This requires a huge responsibility like running our country.
Look at the people who have influenced him...the preacher Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers...just to name two.
If you think for a second that these relationships mean nothing...think again.
They are people who shaped his core beliefs...and that is scary stuff when your talking about the presidency.
First, you assume he was influenced by them. Was McCain influenced by the communists by being captive for five years? I call this guilt by association. You can make this case with just about anyone. McCain was in a communist camp for over five years. One could say he appeased the enemy signing those letters denouncing our government, but I won't stoop that low like the republicans do.
We will all have a job alright....we will all make $20,000 and all have the same shitty government sponsored health care...and anyone having any success will be squashed. Super Sad.
The average income in 2004 was $43,000. Plan on making millions? You feel sorry for the those rich people that are the real anti Americans? Those wealthy greedy people who sold us down the river? The very people who want you and I to be the slaves while they control our lives? And you feel sorry for these people? You better give this more thought. A lot more thought!
I never would have imagined you of all people... falling for this charade...Do you think it is coincidental that we are seeing this mortgage meltdown and this wall street crisis just before the election?
I know one thing, the republicans created a bailout that benefits the same rich anti Americans that created this mess. Remember it is Bush and his top people who stressed that we must do this right now. After January 1st, they would not have been able to do this now would they? I call it "take the money and run".
Yes...Obama will save us...for he is the Messiah. What a load of crap. Neither one of them is going to SAVE us. At least with McCain, I will feel safer from our enemies who want to kill us all.
I'm still trying to figure out how these enemies are going to kill us all. First, they have to get here. Second, just how are they going to kill all of us? I know they have been very successful destroying our economy. A republican in the White House, a republican congress, many warnings months ahead, and 9-11 happened. I find it odd that you somehow feel safer with another republican after that event. Then we invade a country that had nothing to do with 9-11 and lied to us to SELL IT and that too was a republican president. And somehow you feel safer?
I guess I would have to be a republican to make any sense of this!
Aloha Mike

What Is John McCain Really Offering Us?
John McCain is running to win and he is saying that Barrack will raise your taxes. Of course John is talking to all his wealthy friends when he says this. He says he will not raise taxes which means his wealthy friends won't see an increase.
He says Barrack is going to spend trillions and McCain won't spend anything and cut our taxes. Barrack wants to spend money creating two programs which will create jobs. One is the industry of inter structure; new roads, bridges, sewers, high speed Internet and more. Two is the industry which will change our energy to solar, wind, natural gas and more.
McCain says he will also do this but without any money! Neat trick if you could really do it. McCain says he will lower everyone taxes. Sound good but wait till you see how! Kiss your social security, Medicare, and countless other programs goodbye as you know them. He says he will cut all these benefits our government provides.
This is typical republican and McCain calls it "Change". There are many right wing voters out there that like this way of thinking. Make it on your own like they did is their policy. Well I will admit it worked for them but what about all the other Americans who did not have the fortune of seeing this reality?
I guess us Democrats just care too much about others. Others like our elders who need assistance to survive. Others who can't afford health care, college and a place to live. What's really crazy to me is republicans seem to care more about everyone but us. Like Iraq for example; rebuilding their schools, hospitals, businesses, etc.
Some of us want to put America first. Barrack Obama is all about America first. McCain is all about making the wealthy first.

What Is Socialism?
There is lots of talk these days about socialism coming from the McCain camp. According to the dictionary, socialism is: "Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods".
Because Barrack Obama wants to restructure our tax so the top 2% pay about 2% more and then provide tax cuts to the lower income levels from where they are is not socialism. It is simply modifying our tax structure. To some this is leading our country toward socialism.
Taking ownership of banks which the Bush administration has recently done is closer to real socialism then changing the tax code. Universal health care can also be considered a socialistic program like social security or medicare, a change in policy which leans toward socialism.
The main point is the republican party has always been against social programs period. Unless you fall into the top two percent, you are on your own if it were up to the republicans. Unless you have lived under a rock the last eight years, this should be clear to you.
So when Joe The Plumber says he supports republican policy, he is supporting the belief that there should not be social security, instead we should find our own retirement plans. He does not believe in medicare, we again should find our own medical insurance on the market. He believes that any public program which benefits anyone should not be funded by our government or we the tax payers.
Therefore, if all these beliefs became reality, we would pay little or no tax. So now we, the middle class would have this extra $100-$300 per week added to our income. That's amounts to about $8,000 a year extra. Health insurance alone costs $12,000 and up. Some of us would invest our retirement into stocks of which 401K's have lost 40% of their value recently.
If you wanted to start a business, there would be no low interest loans to start with. Meanwhile, other countries are providing their citizens with all these benefits while we just fund our military, based on republican policy.
I suggest you really think carefully before supporting this "no social programs idea". The McCain camp has drilled the idea into your head that all this is bad and taxes are bad as well. But look around you at all the things we have thanks to our taxes. We have police, roads, lights, parks, to mention a few. Retirement and medical money for our elders, many of which depend on for income and health issues.
So this evil word "socialism" in itself might seem to us the worst thing that can happen, yet social programs that serve us as a nation can be a great benefit if our government uses and spend our money wisely.
This is the key; the problem isn't really social programs, it's the purpose of the program and how it is managed that matters. Social security is a great example of a program that works. We need to strive for this as a solution, not reject the idea of any kind of government involvement. We all will have a better country in the outcome if our government operates with us in mind, not the top 2% only.
Barrack Obama has pledged that he will work for us. Yes he wants to create a national health plan. Here is my question to you: Why would you not want to see all Americans covered? Is it because some of us don't count? Is it because some shouldn't matter to us? Is it because you just want to keep all your money like Joe The Plumber does and the hell with the rest of us? Is it because you believe some of us are not Americans?
Remember our parents and grand parents worked all their lives to provide us with a better tomorrow. I believe we should all work to leave our kids with a better tomorrow. By the way, you just can't take all those toys with you when your times up.
Most important, leaving your children with this ever growing huge bill our country has created, leaving children without health care, leaving elders without any income just so you and I can have less taxes is just not the right thing to do, especially if your a Christian like many of you are.

Michele Bachmann Of Minnesota
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann of the 6th district from Minnesota was on Hardball with Chris Matthews and asked about the connection with Barrack Obama and terrorists. She was given a lot of airtime explaining her radical beliefs and summed up stating that if you are liberal you're anti-American and support terrorists and the media should investigate members of Congress who are liberals. Watch the clip at this link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032553
I, as many fellow Minnesotans are simply ashamed to admit that this "flag waving bitch" is from our state. This is another way of saying "you're either with us or against us". This is another example of a radical extreme republican trying to dividing us into two groups, good and bad Americans.
I find it amazing how this over the top "piece of crap", who calls herself a congresswoman can make statements like this. I guess it's freedom of speech, but from someone who represents a whole district of voters? I wonder if the people of her district agree with this? I'm sure there are a few, but only a few.
Well Michele, this anti American who supports terrorism (by your defination of liberal) is going to vote for Barrack Obama as will many others in this country not because we are who you say we are, but because the real issues are what really matters to us, not your insulting hate talk!

Spreading The Wealth
Ever since Barrack Obama told Joe The Plumber that he wants to spread the wealth, McCain has been using that quote at his rallies. What John McCain isn't saying is that we have been spreading the wealth to the top two percent over the last eight years. To refresh your memory, George Bush provided tax cuts to the highest income bracket or the top two percent. This was going to create jobs and give all of us more wealth according to Bush.
This my friends is also "Spreading The Wealth". Obama wants give 95% or those who make less then $250,000 a tax cut by put the top two percent back to the level it was before George Bush changed it. Again it is spreading the wealth restructured to benefit the middle class.
John McCain wants to continue Bush's tax policy. He also want to tax health benefits and freeze spending. This means no more cost of living increases for those on social security. This means cuts to medicare and more. You never hear John McCain mention the middle class. By now you should know who he really represents, it sure ain't the middle class.
Yet with all these facts, many of you who are the middle class want to vote for him anyway. Somehow you believe that the answer is smaller government and no taxes. Whats crazy is that government is why you get a social security check, and government is why you have roads and schools, government is why you have many things you take for granted.
You have this fear that the left will spend and tax. Have you forgotten that it was your party, the republican party and your president who have been in power for the last eight years? It's your party who got us to invade a country that was not the real enemy that attacked us. It was your party that has borrowed money to pay for it while allowing the top 2% to get larger tax cuts. It was your party that deregulated industries which have ruined our economy.
Your fear should be a continuation of this madness. Yet now you somehow have decided that the last eight years was the result of some other party other then the one you support. I call this denial and until you can admit it, you will continue to support the republican party.
Aloha Mike

Joe The Plumber
This guy Joe The Plumber that McCain repeatedly mentioned during the 3rd debate turns out to be "Joe The Jerk". Last year his income was $20,000 and according to county records has a tax lean from 2007 for $1100. And this guy is going to buy a business? Good Luck Joe. Maybe McCain's wife can give you a loan? She's got $100 million sitting around somewhere in one of her eight mansions.
Under Obama's tax plan Joe would gain $500 in tax benefits which I'm sure is enough to get his plumbing business off the ground. McCain said this guy is rich? Duh! Meanwhile I get a call from a lady today telling me she's from the RNC. She then states that Barrack is a terrorist and has friends like Bill Aires who are blowing up America.
At this point I cut her off, told her she was a liar and found her statement unethical, then hung up. The phone number taken from my caller ID is: 866-558-2875. Don't try it, it's a call center employed by the RNC. It's nice to know they finally are talking about real issues; Ya Right!
So Mr. Straight Talk Express is using call centers to work the battle ground states with more offensive attacks on Obama. I guess this is McCain's new economic plan. I sure didn't hear one during the debate.

Tonight McCain Shows His True Colors
When McCain congratulated "Joe The Plumber" for getting rich, he showed his true colors. He's all about the rich! Thank you for making that clear John.
Women on the other hand seem to be unimportant especially when it comes to their health during a pregnancy according to McCain. And now we have gone from Joe Six Pack to Joe The Plumber. Now this is real progress for the American people as we face a depression.
I rest my case,
Aloha Mike

The Real John McCain Story
Again, John McCain is going to reinvent himself. Now it appears he is attempting to focus on our economy. This follows weeks of attacks on Obama's character which seems to have not helped him in the polls.
Unfortunately McCain campaign staff are who they are. A bunch of fanatics that claim they are Christians yet they preach war, hate, and divide. I guess when you start your own religion anything goes. Like the preacher on the airwaves this weekend praying for McCain to win so other religions in the world somehow won't win in some way.
I can't understand how a preacher can preach racist remarks and claim to be a Christian yet somehow it happens. This all goes back to my earlier remarks that there are a lot of dumb people out there who buy all this. Like the lady from Minnesota who thinks Barrack is an Arab. Just saying he's an Arab is racist in itself, as if to say something is wrong with all Arabs.
This is the mindset of the republican party. White people must rule! I'm a white guy who doesn't see things this way. I guess I really believe what I was taught as a Catholic. All men are created equal. Love thy neighbor as you love yourself. The republican party knows that this racial divide exists and they play to their base. The weak minded who fear those who are "not like us".
But the truth behind all this is the republican power structure is not really behind those who support them. Their supporters are just tokens to get the power they desire so the powerful and wealthy can rule. This is what it's all about; so now you know the real story behind what comes out of the McCain campaign.

You Gotta Love Those Spin Doctors
Last night the non-partisan report came out finding Sara Palin guilty of breaking Alaska's ethic law by attempting to get her sister's ex-husband fired. She did however have the right to fire the safety director for any reason. What she did wrong states that she is not allowed to use her office as governor to carry out personal agendas like she did.
This morning the republican spin doctors were on the networks creating their own results. First they say the commission was made up of Obama supporters. Fact: When the commission was formed, Palin was not even known by anyone as a VP pick. The commission was made up of 10 republican and 4 democratic lawmakers from Alaska. How does this equal Obama supporters?
Next the spin doctors said she was vindicated. Fact: She broke Alaska's ethic law so how is this vindicated? They go on to say that the ex-husband, a state trooper should of been fired for various reasons. Fact: The report states that none of the reasons Palin was using to get him fired were justified, instead the report states they were using these reasons as cover to hide the fact that they (Palin, her husband and other supporters) were trying to get him fired.
So like always, the republicans, the party of liars and racists go on with there spin machine hoping their supporters remain stupid and hateful enough to get their vote. I just love how even when the facts are right in their face they manage to ignore reality and go off into their world of make believe.

Breaking News: The Real McCain Appears!
This afternoon in Minnesota the real John McCain showed up at his rally. He told his supporters that he wants to be president, then he preceded to tell them that they should not be afraid of Obama as their president for he is a decent man! The crowd did not like hearing the truth and reacted with a negative response.
In a daily decline in the polls, John McCain finally realized that his attacks of Barrack's character have created a backlash and he needed to come clean with the American people. Ever since his campaign decided to use the slime tactics of George Bush and company, McCain has seemed torn over what he was feeling and what was being said.
As of late, McCain/Palin supporters have gotten more and more radical in their shouts leading to many accusing the republican candidates for inciting hate and even possible domestic terrorism. Pat Buchanan on HardBall tonight after getting pressured by Chris Matthews summed up by saying: Barrack Is Not One Of Us! Now if this is not racial, what is?
So this comes to the main point of the attacks. The republicans are racists! It is that simple, they and their supporters are racists. I challenge anyone to disagree with this! McCain's people saw that they couldn't win on the issues, so they resorted to dividing the voters playing the race card. I have said this before and now Buchanan has proved I was right.
I really don't know what McCain plans to do next. He has proven that from day to day he can change his position on many issues. I just got to give him credit for coming clean with all of us about who Barrack Obama really is. Now his supporters need to come clean and admit the are racists or just plain wrong. Unfortunately, Pat Buchanan has also come clean and admitted his is a Racist.

Who Is Sara Palin?
We are hearing McCain and Palin asking "who is Barrack Obama? But the media should be asking "who is Sara Palin? Palin and her husband belong to a party that has been trying to annex Alaska from the United States.
Don't take my word for it, visit the "Alaskan Independence Party's website below and see for yourself! Now here is my question: Should we even consider electing a Vice President who is supporting this radical idea? Please give me your comments after you visit the website link provided below.

Is McCain A Racist?
The debate in the town hall forum was suppose to be John McCain's favored platform. He however performed poorly by wardering around and stumbling with his words. McCain seemed convinced that he was the only person to vote for and looked upset that he had to even try to compete. He also seemed angry at times to see Barrack outperform him on issues.
McCain acted as though he couldn't accept a half black young senator was even being considered by referring to him as "That One". The reference to Obama as "That One" also seemed to have a racial tone. As if to say how can you doubt my word against this black guy (who is half white by the way).
Republicans throughout recent history has been noted for remarks like this in various campaigns. They like to be portrayed as the good old boys, behind the scenes they want you to believe they represent white people. Publicly they love to portray democrats as the party of blacks. Republicans like to play on the racial divide that still exists in our society.
I hope the real issues we face are more important to you then the color of the person running for office. McCain is from the generation that has this racial issue embedded in them but I personally know many people his age and older who have put this historical American problem behind them when making important decisions.

Who Caused The Mortgage Crisis?
There is a lot of pointing going on over who is the cause of our economic meltdown. I believe we all share some of the blame. It's clear that the wealthy powerful banks created the largest part of this historical problem that is affecting the world markets.
Credit card companies (banks again) wrote their own laws and created a large part of our problem by providing easy credit to all of us, flooding us with deals weekly in the mail, then jacking up their rates for taking advantage of their offers. In most cases increasing the interest three times higher then the monthly payment. How they expected people to deal with this is beyond my understanding. But this is what greed can do.
The mortgage brokers played a large part by offering loans that they knew people would later not be able to repay once their interest rate went up. But they told their customers to refinance when the rates went up. This of course made some sense when the home values were rising.
And finally we the consumer are partly to blame for allowing ourselves to fall into these traps. If we would of listened to our elders and tried harder to live within our means, many of us would have reacted differently to these marketing themes designed to make powerful more wealthy.
Unfortunately the American public has been trained though various media methods to fall into these traps and the people who present these marketing schemes know it works. You can see this daily on your televisions with "paid advertising" 24 hours a day for example.
We all need to accept some responsibility for the mess were in. Maybe it is time for all of us to accept what our elders tried to teach us. We are in fact the most wasteful nation on earth. The is a direct reflection on our habit of relying on credit. We just buy something and throw away something else.
Years ago people would fix things, today we just buy something new instead. We see people waiting in line overnight to buy a new product. Our elders would think we were nuts and they're right!
Living within your means is not bad, it is the only thing that makes sense. If you don't need something and you don't have the money to buy it, then you shouldn't. In our current economic climate, we need to rethink our buying habits and stop helping the wealthy powerful forces who have put us in this lasting financial mess.

Keating Economics
John McCain wants you to forget about his role in our country's last major financial crisis and costly bailout: the savings and loan crisis of the late '80s and early '90s. But voters deserve to know that the failed philosophy and culture of corruption that created the savings and loan crisis then are alive in the current crisis and in John McCain's plans for our economic future.
Voters should know the facts about John McCain's poor judgment, judgment that has twice placed him on the wrong side of history.

Plain Is Failin
The ex-weather girl and beauty queen from Alaska who thinks she is better then others by her remarks as of late is no holy roller herself. She is currently under investigation in Alaska for alleging firing the state's safety director for personal gain. Her very own husband is more radical then her remarks about Obama. Her husband belonged (not palled around with, but belonged) to a group of radical extremists who tried to get Alaska removed from the United States! Now that's real patriotism!
How does a woman married to this radical guy get away with making theses remarks about Barrack without mention of her own husband's radical past? Its the media who is again being bias. They have for the last two days played over and over again her appearances slamming Barrack's character. I don't call this news, I call it promoting republican slime tactics!
The news media acts like they feel sorry or guilty toward her after weeks of reporting her lack of understand of the issues and policies of today. Maybe they just think she's hot and like her winks. But this election should and is about real issues, not "You Bet Ya" or "Gosh, Gee".
Millions of people are worried and sick over the real issues of the day and all we get from the media is this unpatriotic ex-weather girl over and over again. Enough News Media! Let's get back to the issues we the people care about!

The Abortion Issue Part 3
This is the final part of three postings on the abortion issue. Part one established that there are several beliefs as to when life begins based on religion and science. Part two established why I believe life begin at birth and anytime before is part of the creative process.
Now I want to talk about the right wing agenda. They believe they are right about life beginning at conception. Now this in itself is fine however their goal is to impose this belief on all of us by changing the law of the land. They intend to take away a woman's right to choose and make it a crime to have an abortion. Evangelicalism was created by people who questioned their church and its beliefs. The term "Evangelicalism" is a wide-reaching definitional "canopy" that covers a diverse number of Protestant groups.
Keep in mind they formed their own religions by picking and choosing what they decided to believe and not to believe. Now they want everyone else to be forced to accept their beliefs. They will tell you who to vote for so they can impose their will on everyone.
This is not how our country was founded or intended. Our country became a reality as a result of religious persecution in England. It was there that the Queen of England's religion was the rule of law. Our founders came to this land to escape this and form our diverse views of government which by design allowed all religions to flourish.
Now you got preachers on the right telling you how to vote so they can take control of this nation. Is this what you really want? To revert back to the way it was in England that got people to come to America to escape that way of life?
Well John McCain and Palin have made it clear that we will see that day if given the opportunity. They stand for the extreme right wing who will stop at nothing to get their way. This is not the kind of country I want to live in. I love America for what it represents today. Freedom from religious persecution and freedom for all. We don't need a group of radical right wing power happy people controlling us.
Barrack Obama and Joe Biden who represent the Democratic party will keep our rights as individuals. Please remember this when you enter that polling booth.
Aloha Mike

The Abortion Issue Part 2
Now to the second of a three part posting on the abortion issue. Part one established that there are several beliefs as to when life begins based on religion & science. Now let's examine some related definitions.
Born/Birth: "the emergence of a new individual from the body of its parent".
Birthday: " the day of a person's birth".
Creating: "to bring into existence".
Life: "the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body".
Pregnant: "containing a developing embryo, fetus, or unborn offspring within the body".
Now if we are alive at conception, then there should be no process for creating. Therefore the approximate nine months to produce a being should not exist. It does however exist and creating a new being is a process that ends when that being is born or dies somehow during that process. We emerge as a new individual only at the point when we are officially born. Religions such as Catholic which is the one I am familiar with believes we are alive upon conception. This belief is not derived from the word of God, nor is it written in the bible.
Religions have rewritten their laws throughout history in order to maintain their followers. At one time in Europe, it was a sin and you would got to hell if you didn't pay your taxes for the church was the government at the time. They did not have a civil society so they used sins as a way to govern people. I have concluded that life really does not begin until one is born and until you are born, you are in a creative process, not a living being.
This explains why it is not a crime to have an abortion by law. You of course may not agree with this based on your faith, but the Catholic religion once preached the world was flat and you were a sinner if you thought otherwise.
Everyone has a right to believe what they want but they don't have a right to impose their beliefs on others. This is were our laws come in. This is what keeps our society intact; laws. We should all repect each other and avoid imposing views on others. This is truly the Christian way of life. This you will find in the bible.

The Abortion Issue
I have been thinking about abortion and why people take sides with this issue. Let's look at some facts. I believe any religion including the Muslim faith are pro life. However, there seems to be a real problem as to when life begins. Many believe life begins at conception while others believe it begins when there is heart beat, and still others believe life begins at birth.
This is the first problem. We can't seem to agree on when life begins and everyone thinks their point view is the right one. Second, there is this stance that women should have the right to choose. Now to me this is like saying that I have a right to choose when to kill or not, but the problem again goes back to when does life begin? The main point is that no one should have a right to choose when to take a life but we can't agree on when that life officially begins.
In cases of rape or incense, I believe a woman should be allowed to abort for she is not responsible for this and the person who committed the crime should be held responsible for taking this life, that is if there is a life when the abortion occurs. Again we can't agree on when life begins.
So if all religions agree that it is wrong to take life, we need to someday agree on when life begins. Next, if it is wrong to take a life, all religions should agree on birth control. It makes no sense to say that sex is for reproduction only when it provides pleasure. However religions believe that this act should occur only when married. Again we cannot all agree with this thinking. It's wrong to abort but no birth control? This thinking of no birth control simply encourages abortions. I believe religions should rethink their stance on birth control. There are benefits using birth control which include the prevention of disease, population control (which is out of control in many countries) and of course less abortions. It's naive to believe that people should not have sex outside of marriage. Grant you, it may be a sin but reality and common sense should tell us people will sin so why not encourage birth control with discouraging sex out of wed lock?
So someday it would be nice to see all of us agree on when life really begins and agree that women should have a right to abort in cases of rape and incense placing that responsibility solely on the person who committed the crime and someday it would be nice to see all religions agree that birth control can benefit us instead of preaching that it is simply wrong thus reducing abortions.
Because there are people who believe different points of view on this issue, we will probably never see the day when abortions are put to rest. I don't believe this issue should be a political one for everyone who belong to a religion should agree that it is wrong to take a life. We need to come to an agreement as to when life begins. Only then can we establish when an abortion makes sense.

McCain/Palin Grow Desperate
John McCain & Sara Palin are growing desperate as the polls move toward Obama. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls/
Today in California, Palin told a crowd of supporters that Barrack pals around with terrorists. http://news.aol.com:80/elections/article/palin-says-obama-pals-with-terrorists/200425?icid=200100397x1210562408x1200608432
McCain who is sinking in the battleground states has nothing to offer the middle class except more of the same, so "all" he and his running mate have left is to attack and lie hoping they will fool enough of the public to change the election tide.
I can only hope by now the American voter has seen enough of the republican gutter politics and stay focused on the real issues that effect all of us. McCain says "Change Is Coming". He's right but what he also knows is Barrack Obama is the only one who will bring us the much needed change he is talking about.
Did you also notice how gas prices keep falling? We hear the reasons on the news but the real reason is the election is nearing. Just watch what happens when the election is over. Big oil wants the republicans to win so they too can win.
Meanwhile, Palin, his pit bull attack dog is out there telling us how Barrack is not fit to run our country. Talk about painting the kettle! Palin is clueless when it comes to dealing with our country. All she can do is deliver a speech that someone else writes for her. Get her alone with a reporter and she makes a fool of herself. Anybody with the energy resources like Alaska's can provide income to a state. This has been exactly what Barrack has wanted to do for our country. A win fall profit tax on oil which Alaska has but if you recall it was the republicans who told you it wouldn't work. They said that the oil companies would just raise prices.
You can read through the grin of Palin and her stupid talk and winks. She has nothing to offer us in real substance and McCain with his grin and "My Friends" quotes is letting out all the stops to win the election. They will say and do anything for they are desparate.
Just remember that they are the party of lies and more of the same. We have seen all this before when Bush ran. He and his friends lied to us just like McCain and Palin are doing. When McCain says "My Friends" it is not you and I he's referring to, it's the rich, wealthy people who have put us in the mess we are in today.

The Real Sara Palin Story
After last night's VP debate, everyone found Sara Palin had done better then expected. This is because everyone set the bar very low before it began. After watching her performance, she came off as someone who was picked up off the street and coached by experts as if this was some kind of reality show.
The polls today's show Joe Biden won the debate by a large margin. The girl from Alaska, who talks like a girl from Alaska, lacks real knowledge and tried to use her girl from Alaska talk to win over mainstream America. Well it didn't work for the average middle class person who watched her last night realized that she clearly is not what they want in a potental commander in chief.
Without the rehearsed lines, she has no real substance to be in the position of Vice President of our country. Media people noted that Joe Biden seemed somewhat confused during the first half of the debate regarding Palin. I believe he was saying to himself, you gotta be kidding! This is who McCain picked as his running mate?
Which now leads to the judgement of McCain as our commander in chief. His decision to pick Palin was made as a political ploy only with little if any thought beyond that. This is a repeat of George W. Bush who made most of his decisions putting the politics of winning above all when dealing with our country.
This is what Barrack and Joe means when they say "More Of The Same". John McCain is a candidate who will ruin this country just like Bush did, making decisions solely to benefit his political gain and not ours.

Who Are These Guys?
Suddenly, for the first time in eight years, I came to find out that we had fiscal conservatives in Congress! I saw interview after interview today with republican house members who suddenly care about how our money is being spent. Statements like "I don't want to leave my daughter with this debt". "Why should the taxpayer bailout the rich?".
For the last six years we have seen our president and the republican Congress spend our money like drunken sailors. But who cares, it's borrowed! Yet now they suddenly care, the same guys who deregulated the rules in the money markets. And the straight talk express, John McCain who still loves deregulation cares about our money too.
So McCain goes to Congress last week to save us all and today bragged about it. Then came the vote and suddenly it was Barrack Obama and the Democrats who were at fault even though his party who he had supposedly led to fix this bailout problem voted against it.
It's their president and their republican policies which led to this mess, and now they are acting (note acting) like they belong to some other political party. Or maybe they are pretending that the current administration belongs to some other political group.
The point is they are trying hard to convince us that they aren't the people who had anything to do with this economic crisis and they now are the people who really care about our money. Well with the election less then two months away, this clearly makes sense.
Let's all forget the last eight years. Let's forget the none stop spending, the huge policy mistakes, the terrible mismanagement, and above all, let's forget the truth. Just elect them and then we should know the rest of the story!

Who Won The Debate?
After watching the debate last night, I feel Barrack Obama presented his vision for change while John McCain presented another four years of failed policies. During the debate McCain repeatedly said that Obama didn't understand and went on to brag about his experience. I think McCain is the one who doesn't understand.
If you were to review the last six years, you will find McCain was wrong in his judgment about the invasion of Iraq to the deregulation policies he has endorsed that has led to our economic crisis. How can someone who represents and has defended the current administration bring change? The answer is he can't and won't. This is simply a ploy to win the election.
We heard all this before from George W. Bush. He also promised change in Washington and look where we are today.

The 2008 Election Bailout Scam
Remember the lead up to the Iraq invasion? Remember the reasons we had to act now? Iraq posed serious threat to our country. They had weapons of mass destruction. We would end up fighting them here if we did not act. Remember all those lies?
Now the same leaders who created that crisis have again created another crisis only this time it's about money. Again they are saying if we don't act now we will be sorry. Again they are telling us we must act now or else.
These are the same people who have lied to us for seven years and continue day in and day out telling us lie after lie. Just watch the news shows and listen to what they are saying. They deny the truth over and over again. They seldom answer the questions when asked.
Now I ask you, why should we believe them now? This bailout will do one thing for sure. It will put money back in the pockets of the people who made this financial mess and that's all it will do. We will give them money so we can then borrow some of the money we gave them plus interest.
This makes no sense unless you expect to gain personally from the bailout. If our government is so concerned about us having more credit, why not provide the bailout to us directly? I'm sure we all could use an extra $200,000!
To sum up, this is a plan created by the people who created the crisis, who now say we are in a crisis and want to create a bailout to help the fix crisis. It's like someone taking your money and then saying that if you borrow them money, you will then be able to borrow some money from them.
Stop this madness now and call or email your representatives. Tell them that if they allow this bailout to pass you won't vote for them. This is all they really understand; your vote. Yesterday millions of people did just this and now is the time to keep up the pressure to end this scam that our government has created to pay the very people who created this crisis we face.

October Surprise?
Back when I was much younger I wrote a song entitled: "The Beginning Of The End". The lyrics were about nuclear war. Back then this appeared to be a real threat in our world and sadly it still remains a threat. I never could of imagined that today we would be seeing this title refer to our economy.
No matter how our government deals with this current ongoing crisis, we have seen our best days as a country. The problems we face are huge and will require strong, smart leaders both in government and business.
It will take years to overcome the issues only if we make the right decisions; and that's a real big if. The republicans are as of today acting like they are concerned about the current plan on the table and want an alternative. They say they don't like the fact that taxpayers are going to foot the bill for this bailout and suggests it probably won't work.
What's odd is these are the same people who got us in this historical mess. Have they turned over a new leaf? Suddenly after seven years of out of control spending they want to be portrayed as fiscal conservatives. Suddenly they care about you and I after seven years of caring about the top two percent.
Suddenly they want regulation after seven years of deregulation. You have to ask yourself, why the sudden change of heart? Well my friends, it's election time. After seven years of crisis after crisis, they are now going to save America from economic doom.
Remember it's their president and his top people who told us last week to be sacred for we will all lose everything if they don't act. They are banking that you will forget the last seven years of republican leadership that got us here by creating this crisis and now saving us from it.
After seven years of lie after lie, I want to ask you is this current crisis another republican plan to simple win the election? Personally I believe it is. I believe this is their October surprise delivered early.
Conveniently, McCain heads to Washington to fix the plan and skip the debate. He and republican friends in the house met in closed doors today and are now the leaders who care about how our money is spent. This after seven years of not caring but once again it's election time so suddenly they care about our money.
If you buy into this just remember it's election time and in less then 40 days, election time will be over and this sudden change and reversal in republican policy will end. And then you and I will be stuck with more of the same for four more years. This my friends is the real story!

Commander In Chief
Today John McCain decided to suspend his campaign and go to Washington. He also wants to delay the Friday debate and attend the hearings taking place over the greatest bailout in our history!
Here's what I think and I wonder why no one in the press has thought of this. I think McCain does not want the debate to take place because he knows he and his close republican friends are guilty of the economic crisis we are facing. If you recall, he is noted for deregulation. I believe he wants to hide under a rock or in one of his 8 or 9 mansions. Maybe he would like to take a quiet trip in one of his 13 cars? I get it; he wants to put country first by appearing in person hoping this move will make Obama look bad somehow even though it is his policies that got us to this point in our history.
Meanwhile Sara Palin said in an interview she doesn't want Congress to point fingers. That's because she also knows it is her party that created this outrageous mess by removing and changing the rules in the financial markets.
So McCain clearly want this current crisis behind him before he debates or he will face many questions he knows he don't want to answer. So why has the press miss this point? Is it because they forgot that they really are the news media? Is it because they don't want to question his motives in fear of the right wing backlash?
So is this guy who wants to be our Commander In Chief having a problem dealing with the reality of 26 years of policies he pushed and supported that has lead us to the brink of a complete melt down?

Hear Is The Math
According to the political experts in the media no matter who gets elected, if this latest bailout get approved, we the people will be in debt to the tune of $60,000 each! Here's the math: Our government will hold about 18 trillion ($18,000,000,000,000) in debt. Divide our population which currently is about 301 million into the debt and you get $60,000 for every person in this country.
I had to find an online calculator to do this enormous math. This $18 trillion dollar total does include the programs proposed by Barrack Obama. John McCain's programs are actually larger then Barrack's so the debt would be even larger using the McCain figures.
Our political leaders are trying to deal with this latest White House bailout which reminds me of the lead up to the Iraq invasion. This time however, our leaders are at least questioning this move instead of diving right in.
Many wonder if this will even work and some are saying it won't work at all. What I do know is we will all owe $60,000 of debt; each and every one of us. Barrack is the only one suggesting that we get paid back using the profits these banks will make provided the plan even works.
What if this is simply a temporary fix to get the Republicans by the election? What if this plan is designed to put the Democrats in a economic mess beyond repair following the election? I do know this plan is clearly meant to again screw the middle class and get the greedy, wealthy and powerful off the hook!
We all must feel somewhat helpless during all of this and some of you probably don't care. But if we contact our representatives in Congress and raise enough concern, they will listen. This has worked before and will work again.
So if this bothers you as much as it bothers me, please contact your elected officials and expresses your feelings. The great thing about this country is we can! This is the only hope we have to avoid this rush to financial disaster.

Just A Little Confused
Let me see if I have this straight..... If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you're 'exotic' and 'different.'
If you grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, It is a quintessential American story.
If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
If you name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a mainstream patriotic American.
If you graduate from Harvard law School, you are unstable.
If you attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.
If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran 's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.
If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.
If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.
If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and then left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a good Christian.
If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teenage daughter ends up pregnant , you're very responsible.
If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America 's.
If you're husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
OK, I'm much clearer now…
Aloha Mike

Bailout Or Ripoff?
Our members of Congress are in a real hurry to act on the crisis we face in the global economy. However they aren't sure if this record bailout as they call it will even work. We are being told this hard to comprehend trillion dollar deal is designed to rid the banks of the bad debt they are holding which has created a freeze on the ability to borrow money.
If this plans works, our economy will supposedly begin to work again. What this means is the banks, or should I say the greedy powerful people who ripped of millions of Americans will be able to make their millions again. Meanwhile, we the people are sitting on all that debt.
What got us to this point, is the lack of rules or rules being ignored. The republicans call this deregulation, I call it STUPID. Imagine football without rules or any sport without regulations in place. Well it's the same in the financial markets; without rules anything goes. The result of this mindset has helped wealthy investors and managers of large corporations make tons of money at our expense.
Now we are about to let them off the hook and get stuck with the bill. Well I have a common sense solution to this crisis. If this historical move really helps resolve the problem and companies who are holding this bad debt can once again make money, WHY NOT HAVE THEM PAY BACK THESE DEBTS WITH A PERCENT OF THEIR PROFITS? Eventually, they will pay back the entire bill! Is this idea to simple or am I missing something?
We also need to provide homeowners, who were suckered into these floating rate mortgages the ability to convert to fixed rates that keep them in their homes. IT'S GREED ONLY that is preventing this from happening. These same rich powerful people who created this global mess can't bare the thought of making less money can they? Well maybe it's time they do!
The Republicans and Democrats need common sense when resolving this, I just wonder if they have any.

Party In Denial-The Party Of Lies
The republican party is in denial. They are conveniently pretending that they were not in control of the white house and congress over the last eight years. They are quick to point out that the current congress hasn't done much but they don't mention that they are the ones who block every piece of legislation the Democrats try to past. And when something does pass, their president has vetoed the bill.
The republicans are now trying to sell us more of their lies by trying to portray themselves as a party of change. I think they are the "Party Of Lies". They won't admit it's their policy of deregulation that has created our economic crisis. In case you forgot, deregulation means "remove the rules".
It's this simple: You take away the rules and you get powerful greedy people out of control. They do everything and anything they want to make all the money they can. And when no one is minding the store, you end up with this disaster we now face. Look for example at what the lack of rules has done to gas prices. They raise the price whenever and as often as they want. Now this is great for business if you are an oil man. And did you notice how the prices have generally dropped lately. It's Election Gas! They want the republicans to remain in power so they can screw you after the election is over. This is exactly what happened in the last election in case you forgot. With no rules in place, anything goes.
Republicans are now trying to reinvent themselves into a party of real change after they and their decisions led to the 800 point drop in our stock market over the last two days. Failure after failure, bailout after bailout, with no end in site. Obama has clearly attempted in congress to get rules in place over the last two years but the republicans always say that this will hurt business (that is their rich friends businesses) and they block these proposals. Now they have the guts to try to blame Democrats for our economy in crisis.
The Party Of Lies, The Republican Party has for eight years led our country and other countries to the brink of economic destruction. They have also led our military to the brink of destruction by overusing our troops repeatedly; again based on lies. The time is overdue to get these greedy rich bastards out of office and it is time to elect people who really care about the middle class. The democratic party has always represented the middle class and we need their help now more then ever.
Aloha Mike

It's The Economy Stupid!
Today we saw our stock market lose over 500 plus points which will mean that your pension or 401k has taken a serious hit. Millions of Americans who are planning to retire are seeing their dreams of retirement fade away with no positive outlook in the near future.
Now imagine if our social security fund had been privatised. All those seniors who depend on survival not having any money to live on. This is exactly what John McCain offers you. Investing the social security fund in the stock market.
Today McCain said that the stock market lacks regulation. For years the republication party has fought to deregulate industries in our country; the airline industry, the oil industry, the financial industry for examples. They said regulation would hurt business.
So as Bill Clinton once said, "It's The Economy Stupid". When will the people out there wake up from this madness their party, the republican party has delivered?

Fox Sunday News/Brain Washing By Design
Fox Sunday news is using very clever methods to brain wash their conservative viewers. Today's example was a panel of five people: Brit Hume, Mara Liason, Bill Kristol, and the host, all well known republican mouth pieces and white. Then there's Juan Williams, also a republican mouth piece and the only black on the panel.
The subject was Sara Palin and the four white commentators were all making positive comments about her. Suddenly, Juan begins to question some of the comments, pointing out facts like Palin hiring a lobbyist when mayor and governor in Alaska. Then the four other panelists, all white began to argue with him.
I can see the viewers watching this saying to themselves, "Figures the black guy would make negative comments about Sara!" Then a few minutes later this same example was replayed again using a different topic.
Now this all seems quite normal; a panel of people discussing politics but was it? I find it odd that all the white people, known right wing mouth pieces for the republican machine, spent their time over and over again preaching how great Palin is and using their token black to question her.
I call this Brain Washing By Design. Say nice things about a white conservative and have the black guy try to discredit some of the claims. Result, the viewers, mostly white conservatives conclude the black guy is clearly against them thus dividing us into race differences and of course making Barrack Obama look bad as well.
Now I know I can't prove that this was deliberate, however why was everyone on Sara's band wagon during the show except for Juan, who normally displays bias toward republican views?
Why didn't others point out some of information about Palin coming out in the press that isn't positive? Brain washing by design?
Final note: I noticed that for every ten negative comments toward Democrats made on fox, they do add one positive one in between. I guess this is what they call "Fair and Balanced".

Fox And Their Stupid Friends
This morning while watching the hurricane coverage I switched over to fox cable news. The announcer just aired a mayor, warning the public not to drink tap water. He then says this: "Although the mayor is a democratic, he's doing a real good job".
Now how is that statement "fair and balanced" as fox loves to advertise? As if to say, this no good liberal did something that's hard to believe! And what does the mayor's party he represents have to do with the public warning or the hurricane? Twenty four hours a day, fox cable news is promoting the republican agenda and has show after show that brain wash their viewers with lie after lie calling it news.
Yet when a news station states a fact that is negative toward a republican, the cry from the right is load and clear. "You can't do that!" while fox goes on and on with their political right wing agenda.
Well to all those viewers who believe in fox news, "You're All Stupid", and you can't fix stupid. Many of you are so stupid, you got a problem with a black man running for president. You have this image in your mind of our country becoming a ghetto if Barrack gets elected.
Well I got news for you. Our country is becoming a ghetto thanks to your republican party. It's your stupidity that as allowed your right wing radical politicians destroy our economy and put us in the mess our country is in. And you're so stupid you really believe they will somehow fix it if you elect them again!
So this white guy, a liberal who cares about all this wants change. And yes I want a black guy to run our country. You don't get it cause you're stupid so you label me and others like me including Barrack Obama with names your party makes up so you can feel good for being so stupid as your republican friends sell all of us down the river.
Aloha Mike

Seven Years Later
This morning on MSNBC I watched the footage from 9-11-2001, that terrible day our nation experienced the horror that terrorism can bring. It rekindled the emotions I had that day and left me feeling so sorry for all those people who died and suffered. Now seven years later I cannot help but reflect on that day.
The playback showed our president telling us he would hunt down those responsible for this attack on America. At that point I had to wonder how we ended up in Iraq? How can Bin Laden be still at large? How can his group of extremists still be out there plotting against us?
After all, this is America, the most powerful government in the world. I had to stop and wonder why we haven't arrived at resolving this threat?
Then I began to look at our government today and all the management blunders that we have experienced since then. You all should know what they are unless you have been living under a rock the last seven years. Now I feel somewhat confused for where we are since 9-11.
The thought that 50% of our country still believes the republicans should remain in office for four more years is simply hard to understand realizing what has occurred since that tragic day.
We have seen them divide our country not only between each other, but in the world as well. Other countries have lost our respect for they too see our management blunders. We have seen our home values drop, people lose their jobs, unemployment rise, energy costs get out of hand, health care eat away at our ability to afford it, our deficit grow to record levels, our children and grandchildren given a huge debt to look forward to.
Yet with all this and more, still 50 % of my fellow Americans still believe that the republican party should lead this country. I can only ask myself, "When Will They Wake Up or don't the things mentioned even matter to them?" I have tried daily to understand my fellow citizens who fall in this 50%, trying to figure out what they are thinking that makes them so comfortable with a 72 year old Washington insider and a unknown governor that has extreme right wing views, a party that everyone knows runs on lies and not their record, a party that has brought us to this point in our country's history.
I may never really figure them out. I can only hope that someday soon they get it like the other 50% do.

Running On Lies
I got an email today which clearly shows how republicans run on lies to get elected. They sure can't run on their record! Its about social security and how various Democrats screwed it up.
Follow this link to the social security administration's website to read the truth then read the email I received below. http://www.ssa.gov/history/InternetMyths2.html
Never believe everything you read in emails or websites unless you're just plain stupid! Now remember before you vote all the lies that you have been fed.
Aloha Mike
Here is typical republican brain washing being sent as emails:
Subject: Social Security FACTS - GOOD Info
Just in case some of you didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it just go to www.snopes.com on anything written below.Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat of Republican. The facts are there ! Social Security Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised: 1) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary, ;2) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program, 3) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year, 4) That the money contributed by the participants would be put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and
5) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income. Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' -- you may be interested in the following: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it? A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding? A: The Democratic Party. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities? A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US ------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? A: Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants that moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments!
The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! ------------------------------------------------------------------ Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is, uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't true. But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to? Actions speak louder than bumper stickers. A government big enough to give you every thing you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson

We Would Rather Stay Stupid Then Get Smart?
I am beginning to think that the republicans have found their new George Bush. Sara Palin is emerging as a person who is always right and will step on anyone who disagrees. She has proven this point in her past positions as a mayor and governor. Sound like our current president?
This is just what our country needs, another George Bush or as she puts it, a pit bull with lipstick.
I'm sure this will bring real change to our white house. I just wonder how her and McCain will get rid of those lobbyists and special interest groups when McCain's campaign manager is one of the biggest lobbyist known in the business?
I saw an ad yesterday on television by McCain showing the excessive spending, the huge deficit, the mortgage crisis, etc. and linked it all to Obama! Now this is real change, more lies from the right wing like the lies that got us to invade Iraq and spend 10 billion a month with borrowed money. But the surge worked so all is better. After all my friends, we would rather win the war instead of win an election. Or is it we would rather stay stupid instead of get smart?

Taxing Oil Companies
Do you remember what the republicans said when Barrack wanted to tax the oil companies win fall profits? They said that the oil companies would just raise their prices and we won't see much change at the pump.
Palin did just that in Alaska and now every tax payer in that state is getting a $1200 check. No wonder her approval rating is 80%. How can anyone not like that?
The republicans know Barrack is right about his proposal for Palin proved it worked in Alaska. I guess they are getting just too much money from the lobbists to agree with Obama!

The RNC
I tried to watch the RNC objectively but after the sarcastic attacks, the blunt arrogant attitudes of the speakers and the repeated out and out lies, they finally turned me off and made me angry.
These flag waving SOBs who think they own our flag provided a stage that was filled with hate and no new ideas.
Then there was the pit bowl lipstick bitch reading a speech written for her acting like she was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I see women just like her on the road everyday. They drive big SUVs, gabbing on their cell phone while tail gating you as if you are preventing them to get where ever. And yes, they have the suv plastered with "support the troops" stickers made in china as if to say there are Americans who don't. It's funny, I have yet to meet one of those people.
Then there was the theme, "Change Is Coming". It sounds to me like McCain is going to vote for Barrack, for after being in Washington for over 20 years he surly can't be talking about himself!
One of my favorite lines by the spin doctors was living in a state that is near Russia give you the experience needed to tackle the world problems. You gotta be kidding.
Then there is Cindy McCain, worth 100 million bragging about her world tours and buying a kid and taking them home. What about all the rest over those twenty years in congress? I guess they just gotta continue to suffer. After all she got alot of homes to support!
So after destroying our country's economy, invading a country, leaving our grand kids with this huge debt, now the republicans are going to fix the mess they created with a 72 year old Washington insider and a pit bowl. I'm Impressed.
McCain at least admitted his party did all this. But instead of giving us the hope Obama is offering, we get nothing but lies and fear. I hope you are sick of this like me.
Now it's time for us white Americans to put aside the years of hate toward blacks we were taught by our elders and vote for what makes sense; not lies and hate but hope for our future.
Oh, in case you haven't figured this out yet, Barrack is white and black!

Why I'm A Democratic
I have always had a knack others tell me to take difficult things and present them in simple terms. Well here it is; the Democratic party has always represented the working class and the Republicans have always represented the wealthy.
Now even if I fell under the wealthy group, I would remain a demo. It's because I care about others that fall under "working class". People who don't have health care for example. The republicans represent big business like medical corporations, not that poor family without health services. They are about money and nothing more. We are in Iraq for big oil. They have acquired huge contracts with that country. How does this help us? By record profits; the largest in our history? I don't think so.
So I really don't need a speech or a convention for I already know the basics mentioned above. Name a Republican president who represented the working class. Reagan? Give tax breaks to the top and watch it trickle down to us? Bush? Look where we are today; the republicans have been in control of congress and the exec. branch for 8 years and they said if we gave them this power, we would all be better off. The wealthy sure are!
Like Barack said, "This is not about me, it's about you". He's a democrat and will work in your interests. Did Bush? McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. This is key; ask yourself this when trying to decide who is best, "Are they part of the problem or part of the solution". You will get your answer.
What you hear about Obama is spin. The Republicans found out from their master mind Karl Roves that if you tell a lie over and over again, people will eventually believe it. That's how we ended up in Iraq. This lie repeating idea was first used in Germany by Hitler. That's how he got his people on board to fight. He controlled the media. I call it brain washing. The owners of most of our huge media companies that you watch and listen to are all republicans and they are well organized. They are very good at what they do. The people who read the news have three producers who dictate what you see and hear. I know this doesn't sound like America because when we were growing up it was just starting to change to this.
They will stop at nothing to retain power, for power is money and the more you got the more you want! God calls this greed. In the bible is says that it is easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle then a rich man through the gates of heaven. So when McCain says he puts his country first, he's not talking about you and me, he's taking about his country of the wealthy.
Republicans care about embroils but once you're born your on your own and they don't seen to have a problem sending that born embroil to war for what they tell you is freedom and keeping you safe. They don't mention the huge industry behind war that is making huge money building weapons etc. that is really driving all this spin you hear. Oddly enough, it was president Eisenhower, a republican who warned us in a speech about the dangers of the military complex.
Hope this helped you understand why I, like our Dad and Mom are Democratic.

Evangelists and Politics
I've always had a problem with the Evangelists and the way they operate. As of late, I'm having even more of a problem.
I get the impression that they create and modify the rules as they go. Let's take Sara Palin for example. They preach that it's a sin to have sex out of wedlock but they have rallied around her when they found her daughter was pregnant? This is just nuts; don't get pregnant for it's a sin but let's all be happy because their VP choice's daughter is to have her baby? They have completely road off the fact that she has sinned! This to me is modifying the rules to fit their life style.
Regardless of your religious beliefs, everyone should follow the ten commandments, not pick and choose the ones which work for you at the time. Evangelists should express their displeasure over the fact this girl is only seventeen and still in high school and unmarried having sex.
The Evangelists place all there fate in "live begins at conception", but let's look at what happens when this life is born. Evangelists are against universal health care, public schools, social security, etc. but they don't mind if they send these kids off to a war that was based on lies, some who get wounded and others who die.
True Christians have always believed in peace. I have seen these Evangelists on TV preaching that we need to attack and destroy countries because "they are the enemy". Last time I heard this was in the military, not in church! What happened to "Thou shall not kill"?
So to sum up, I'm beginning to believe that Evangelists care about you only before you are truly born, then you on your own and it's ok if you die if money is to be made in the process.
I think many of these Evangelists picked this "born again" option because is the eary way out with rules that are applied only when they decide they do.

Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska
Well I guess McCain thinks he'll win all the female votes by picking Palin. I live in a suburban town of 10,000. I guess he could of picked my mayor, but she's not a radical right winger that is in love with big oil.
And what about this family values crap. Palin's daughter is going to have a baby at seventeen and not yet married. Now there's great moral upbringing! Oh, but she can fish and shoot a gun. Now that my kind of Vice President.
Let's see now, she hates abortion so much that a little girl must have her father's baby? We need to drill all we can everywhere so we keep using oil? Oh, I almost forgot! If your sister is getting a divorce, just call Palin and she'll try to get your sister's husband fired!
Ya Palin, your right up there with Hillary.

Hot Dog McCain
I find it interesting that John McCain suddenly wants to show his leadership during Gustav when 3 years ago he was in Arizona with Bush celebrating his birthday while hurricane Katrina was on shore in full force.
He didn't seem to care then, but he wasn't running for president so I guess he didn't find it necessary to be the "Maverick" he claims to be. Funny how he is suddenly is trying portraying himself as this great leader.
What a joke!

McCain Presidency Will Bring Change
In 1936, McCain was born at the Coco Solo Air Base, in the then American controlled Panama Canal Zone to Jack McCain, a Navy officer, and Roberta McCain. If McCain wins the 2008 election, he’d be the first American to take the presidential oath who has an official birthplace on foreign soil.
Constitutional qualifications for the presidency requires you are a "natural born citizen", at least 35 years of age with 14 years of residence.
He will also be the in charge of all federal employees who are required to retire at 65 and he is 72 years old.
When he was discharged from service, he was given full disability benefits. This means you are unable to work full time.
So my friends, if he wins, you will see real change. We will have a president that doesn't meet our constitutional requirements, a commander in chef who doesn't meet federal retirement requirements, and a leader who is receiving full disability benefits.

Only In The American Media
I guess now no one can say anything negative about John McCain even if its true and even if your a retired general.
So it appears that if you fly a fighter plane, get shot down, and get captured, you are qualified to become president. And don't you darn say otherwise!
The Right Wing press is working full time now at attacking and working hard to brain wash the American voter to see things their way.
But do you know what? It's not going to work. Why? The American voter is smarter now and they can read thru the BS the Right Wing is putting out.
The republicans must be really afraid that they will lose this November and they are pulling out all the stops. This is only the beginning, more to come soon.
Well I'm fighting back and will continue to do so. McCain will lose this November and so will a lot of Republican seats in congress. Why? Because they screwed up our country so bad, we the people will not forget what they have done.
Thank God for Ed Schultz and Keith Obermann! They are our voice of truth in this right wing media world of lies and crap designed to brain wash us.

Fox News, Fair & Balanced?
Well the ha, ha, fair and balanced news network is at it again! A white Catholic preacher who spoke at Chicago's Trinity Church during his sermon last Sunday made headlines and breaking news on Fox for his comments about Hillary. He demonstrated that she cannot accept a black guy is winning the race and that she should win because she's white! So Fox news is replaying and replaying the piece and placed it on their home page on their website as breaking news.
Well guess what? The preacher is right, Hillary is having a problem that Barack is winning and has inferred that she can do better because she's white.
So Fox is having a problem with the truth like always. As if the preacher is somehow a demon for telling the truth. I guess you have to be a republican to understand this.
Its like my son-in-law, a die hard republican who sent me racist stupid emails about Barack several times and I never got mad but after receiving the last one I got even by turning he email into a Bush/McCain comeback.
Well he got the email and sent me a note that he has blocked me as a sender. I guess its ok to dish it out but like most republicans can't take it!

The White Working Class Buzz
The media talks often about the white working class in reference to Barack Obama and his ability to win enough voters in November. First, there are many white working class people who won't necessarily admit it, but would pick a white over a black period. In this politically correct world we live in, most people would be afraid to say this publicly.
Second, where Obama does not do well is in the southern states which are more prone to dislike blacks to begin with. Some of these people think the south will rise again. Some may not like hearing this, but if you don't live in a cave you know this is true.
Third, he does well in urban areas which are generally democratic and does not do well in rural areas which are republican. Now you don't need to be a political analysis to figure this out. Its this simple.
Now if you were to remove the Clinton factor which those experts seem to never think of, Barack would suddenly have a much higher number of voters in his corner. And to assume that they all would defect to McCain is nuts. If you really are a demo, you will vote a demo because you believe in their principles.
So what does all this mean? Obama first needs to win his party's endorsement which it seems he will. Once the dust settles, then he needs to connect with democratic base and it looks like its bigger then ever. The media never seems to bring this up but the voter counts are right on the screen. The democrats are getting twice the votes the republicans are.
This spells bad news for the republicans come November and they know it. The people have finally begun to wake up! But the right wing will do everything and anything to win.
I believe Bush cut a backroom deal with his oil friends the Arabs. Come election time you watch the gas prices drop at the pump. Their hoping we'll forget how they screwed us for so long, and don't be surprised if we attack Iran somehow. Its all part of the plan to retain power.

Proud Of My Country
I guess the republicans are proud of their country even though they are running it into the ground everyday. I think what they are really proud of is they think they are better than everyone else. Or maybe they are proud of the power they have had over our country for the last six years.
Proud that they sent our young people into a war based on lies and scare tactics. Proud they are spending $11 billion per month and borrowing the money. Proud that the top 2% are getting their tax breaks so they can add to their already outrageous wealth. After all, they need the money to buy another estate to add to their collection while other Americans are losing their only home.
Meanwhile Fox News is still running the story of Michelle Obama for months now who stated: "for first time in my adult lifetime I'm proud of my country" when referring to the fact of how proud she was of her husband running for president.
I guess its OK if McCain or Bush or Rice misspeaks as long as you are a republican. And Fox News states they are "fair & balanced". What A Joke! Why haven't I seen the same attention given to the misspoken quotes by McCain that they love to give to Obama's wife?

Weak On Security
The republicans have been running on security for a long time now. They tell us we're safe as long as they are in control, but are we?
Let me pose some questions to you and ask yourself which party is responsible:
Who was told months before 9/11 that terrorists would try to use planes to hit our buildings but did nothing in response to these warnings?
Who decided to attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 using info from an unreliable source while ignoring Intel from its own agencies stating there was no proof that weapons of mass destruction existed but invaded that country anyway?
Who decided to fund this invasion with money borrowed from China while giving the top 2% a tax break? Does anyone care that our kids will be struck with this ever growing bill?
Who was in charge of our congress and presidency when North Korea announced their nuclear weapons?
Who directed our efforts to Iraq and ignored Pakistan where Al Queda has its home and there are nuclear weapons?
Who allowed the Bin Laden family to leave this country right after 9/11 on our military planes?
If you aren't brain dead you know our current administration is the answer to all of the questions. Now how does this add up to the republican party keeping us safe? Better yet, how does the democratic party make us weaker or unsafe when they haven't had a chance to control things in the first place.
I hope we are waking up to reality and not falling for the scare tactics of old. Remember John Kennedy and the Cuba missile crisis? Was this an example of Democratics being weak on security when we were on the brink of nuclear war and Kennedy told the Russians to remove their missles or else?
My friends, as John McCain likes to say, who is really weak on security after all the mistakes made by the republican controlled government. Is starting a war all it takes to get you to think this is how we are strong on security? Even if its wrong?
You comments are welcome,
Aloha Mike
