I received an email from a old friend of mine who took time to write me and explain to me why he thinks I'm nuts to support the Democratic ticket. Here is my response to his content:

McCain is NOT my guy....to me he is the lesser of two evils. There are things I don't like about McCain.
I don't believe either is evil, they just have different policies. McCain is a deregulator and proudly admits it. It's this right wing thinking that has destroyed many of our industries; the latest is of course, housing. We deregulated the airlines and oil and you know the rest of those stories.

But Obama scares me silly....it is hard for me to believe that you don't see it!
He is lying to you Mike. And when I think of the tri-fecta in Washington if he wins....
Obama, a democratic congress (by the way this congress has been writing the laws for the last two years), and Pelosi...she is super scary and these three entities will be running this country unchecked...no balance. Wow.
Yes, the demos have had a very small (one seat) edge and managed to get very little passes in Congress thanks to republican filibusters. It been on the news for the last two years by the way. It will be wonderful to see good laws get passed without the right wing killing them. For six of the last eight years the republicans have had this "no balance" you mentioned. They promised us a better tomorrow. I'm still waiting!

I don't know where this info comes from? Joe The Plumber's Crack? It is plain fact that Bush cut taxes for the top 2% only. This is fact, check your resources or just stay in denial. Try Google if you can face reality. You are clearly wrong about this.

Raising taxes now would be catastrophic for this country and he is going to do it.
What is catastrophic, is what Bush and the republicans have done to our country. Do you know that when Bush gave the top two percent those cuts we were suppose to see more jobs and wealth? Do you know what they really did with that money. They purchased paintings which only they can afford that increase in value no matter what happens to our economy. Think about having millions of dollars. Do you really think you need a tax cut while your country's in two wars? Many who are this wealthy are also very greedy. Do you really think they are going to share their good fortune by running out a creating jobs for us? These are the same people who shipped our jobs to China and India. Their corporate office is in a place like Bermuda to escape paying any tax. Now that real American greed! Our corporate CEOs' are the most corrupt in the world.

It is frightening to think of him making decisions regarding national security.
Look back at the decisions Bush has made; Now that's frightening and the guy you fear less then Obama is exactly like him.

It is frightening to think of him turning this country into another socialist France.
What do you have against everyone having health care? You are trying to paint it as something bad. What's bad is this country, America with millions of fellow Americans uninsured while other countries provide for theirs. The number one reason for bankruptcies is "medical".

He scares the shit out of me man. Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama & Biden combined!
Sarah has as much experience as the mayor of Mound, MN. She is nothing but a beauty queen with a quest for power. Many in her own party know she lacks the experience and have said so in the Media as of late. Now that's frightening! Her foreign policy experience consists of "seeing Russia from her house".

Obama has never run anything that has any responsibility attached to it....EVER!
Obama has run one of the best campaigns in our country's history. McCain has run one of the worst. This requires a huge responsibility like running our country.

Look at the people who have influenced him...the preacher Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers...just to name two.
If you think for a second that these relationships mean nothing...think again.
They are people who shaped his core beliefs...and that is scary stuff when your talking about the presidency.
First, you assume he was influenced by them. Was McCain influenced by the communists by being captive for five years? I call this guilt by association. You can make this case with just about anyone. McCain was in a communist camp for over five years. One could say he appeased the enemy signing those letters denouncing our government, but I won't stoop that low like the republicans do.

We will all have a job alright....we will all make $20,000 and all have the same shitty government sponsored health care...and anyone having any success will be squashed. Super Sad.
The average income in 2004 was $43,000. Plan on making millions? You feel sorry for the those rich people that are the real anti Americans? Those wealthy greedy people who sold us down the river? The very people who want you and I to be the slaves while they control our lives? And you feel sorry for these people? You better give this more thought. A lot more thought!

I never would have imagined you of all people... falling for this charade...Do you think it is coincidental that we are seeing this mortgage meltdown and this wall street crisis just before the election?
I know one thing, the republicans created a bailout that benefits the same rich anti Americans that created this mess. Remember it is Bush and his top people who stressed that we must do this right now. After January 1st, they would not have been able to do this now would they? I call it "take the money and run".

Yes...Obama will save us...for he is the Messiah. What a load of crap. Neither one of them is going to SAVE us. At least with McCain, I will feel safer from our enemies who want to kill us all.
I'm still trying to figure out how these enemies are going to kill us all. First, they have to get here. Second, just how are they going to kill all of us? I know they have been very successful destroying our economy. A republican in the White House, a republican congress, many warnings months ahead, and 9-11 happened. I find it odd that you somehow feel safer with another republican after that event. Then we invade a country that had nothing to do with 9-11 and lied to us to SELL IT and that too was a republican president. And somehow you feel safer?

I guess I would have to be a republican to make any sense of this!
