October Surprise?

Back when I was much younger I wrote a song entitled: "The Beginning Of The End". The lyrics were about nuclear war. Back then this appeared to be a real threat in our world and sadly it still remains a threat. I never could of imagined that today we would be seeing this title refer to our economy.

No matter how our government deals with this current ongoing crisis, we have seen our best days as a country. The problems we face are huge and will require strong, smart leaders both in government and business.

It will take years to overcome the issues only if we make the right decisions; and that's a real big if. The republicans are as of today acting like they are concerned about the current plan on the table and want an alternative. They say they don't like the fact that taxpayers are going to foot the bill for this bailout and suggests it probably won't work.

What's odd is these are the same people who got us in this historical mess. Have they turned over a new leaf? Suddenly after seven years of out of control spending they want to be portrayed as fiscal conservatives. Suddenly they care about you and I after seven years of caring about the top two percent.

Suddenly they want regulation after seven years of deregulation. You have to ask yourself, why the sudden change of heart? Well my friends, it's election time. After seven years of crisis after crisis, they are now going to save America from economic doom.

Remember it's their president and his top people who told us last week to be sacred for we will all lose everything if they don't act. They are banking that you will forget the last seven years of republican leadership that got us here by creating this crisis and now saving us from it.

After seven years of lie after lie, I want to ask you is this current crisis another republican plan to simple win the election? Personally I believe it is. I believe this is their October surprise delivered early.

Conveniently, McCain heads to Washington to fix the plan and skip the debate. He and republican friends in the house met in closed doors today and are now the leaders who care about how our money is spent. This after seven years of not caring but once again it's election time so suddenly they care about our money.

If you buy into this just remember it's election time and in less then 40 days, election time will be over and this sudden change and reversal in republican policy will end. And then you and I will be stuck with more of the same for four more years. This my friends is the real story!

Aloha Mike
